31 Week Check Up

I went to my Dr's this morning for my check up. I am officially 31 weeks. Wow pretty crazy. Everything checked out great. Heart rate was 138 and I measured right on at 31 cm. I did find out that I tested positive for Group B Strep again - I did with Kaitlin to. They don't usually test for that this early but I had to do a urine test to see if I had a UTI or something last week (which I did and was causing me to have lots of contractions again but luckily I've been on antibiotics since Thursday and it seems to be getting better although my contractions are definitely harder lately) so they tested for the Group B too. Although I was expecting that I was slight disappointed since that means I have to get to the hospital early. I was kind of hoping that since the hospital is so close that I could stay at home longer this time but that's okay. Gotta keep the baby healthy! She is definitely moving around a ton. Some days it seems like she never stops. I am getting pretty excited to have another baby but definitely interested to see how it will change our family and how Kaitlin will deal with it. Now that I'm pretty much done clearing out my bow stuff my next project is to go thru all the baby clothes to figure out if we need to buy much besides diapers. I can't believe we're only 8 1/2 weeks away from meeting this little one! WOW! I'll definitely try to get a picture of my ever growing belly soon. I feel like it grew a foot in the last week and I am so sick of all my maternity clothes. I've jokingly (yet kind of seriously) asked my office if I can just wear sweats everyday and bring work appropriate clothes to change into when I have clients coming :) They jokingly say yes but I know they're not serious. Have a great day!

Disney On Ice & the ER in the Same Night

Our Friday night really was a great night. We had 2nd row seats for Disney On Ice and Kaitlin was so excited. We went out to dinner at a great hibachi place downtown. Kaitlin was terrified by the fire and almost jumped out of her highchair but we all loved the food. I let Kaitlin wear her Sleeping Beauty dress and Sam thought I was a little crazy - until we got there. Probably 75-85% of the girls (and some of the women) were dressed up. Kaitlin loved seeing all the costumes and said hi to all the girls as their characters. She loved seeing Tinkerbell but her favorite was definitely Ariel. She was totally anticipating her coming out because the did a number with Sebastian first so she kept asking where Ariel was. I wish I could have gotten her reaction on video - she was so excited - cheering, clapping and squealing. It made it all worth it :) The show was great - a little cold being that close though! And of course Kaitlin didn't want to wear her coat but luckily she let me use it like a blanket and cuddle her in it. Kaitlin fell asleep pretty quick on the way home - everything was great. When we got home and put her to bed she coughed a couple times and it sounded pretty barky - Sam and I both looked at each other and said "Uh oh" as we were both thinking oh great she's getting sick. We pulled out the humidafier and headed to bed. About 30-40 minutes later Kaitlin woke up coughing hysterically - so hard that it threw her into a horrible episode of not being able to breathe. It was horrible. I rushed upstairs and picked her up, tried to get her to calm down. She was looking at me like mom help me. She gagged a few times and I thought she was going to throw up but she didn't. She was really struggling. Sam and I quickly made the decision to head to the ER. Luckily we now have a fabulous hospital less than 10 minutes away - even faster with the way Sam was driving of course! The drive was horrible. Luckily Kaitlin did calm down and wasn't crying - she still was really struggling to breathe but wasn't as panicky. One of the few things she managed to say when we were at home was "Mom I need medicine" talk about break your heart when your child is asking for medicine. I started crying and felt bad because I didn't want Kaitlin to see me cry but I just couldn't help it. Sam gave me the look of you need to pull it together - Kaitlin is really sensitive to us being upset. Luckily she had her eyes closed and I don't think she noticed. She kept wanting her binky of course but couldn't suck on it because she couldn't breathe which made her really frustrated. We got the hospital and managed to tell them her name and a little info before they rushed us back. They quickly tried to give her an oxygen mask which was adult sized and she resisted of course but as soon as we told her it was medicine and that it would help her she was pretty much holding it on. She knew she needed help. They gave her a breathing treatment which seemed to help a little but nothing major. Then they gave her a steroid dose which after a while seemed to really help. It took probably close to 2 hours before she seemed to be breathing close to normal. The images I have of her are horrible. She was so lifeless. She couldn't talk and just looked at us begging for help. Once she started feeling better she was quite the crackup. She told us that Dr's fight tigers, she asked the nurse if her mom could have the other 1/2 of her popsicle so we had same's, we played in a band in her coloring book - she was drumming on the table with a crayon and Sam told her she needed to do it on the coloring book so she didn't get crayon on the table so then Sam drew her a drum for her to hit, it was so cute the little drum sounds she was making, so then Sam drew a guitar and she told daddy he could play the guitar and she would play the drum so Sam would hit the guitar with a crayon and make strumming noises - then she said Mom's not in our band and Sam said wait and drew a microphone - she was all excited and told me I could be in the band. So then she would count "1,3,4" (we kept reminding her about 2 but she kept leaving it out) and then we would all play in our band. I asked her what our name was and she said Bandy - so we were Bandy the Band :) They had to keep us there for 3 hours to make sure that the breathing treatment didn't wear off and that she would need another one. So we got home a little before 3 am exhausted - except for Kaitlin. I guess that breathing treatment gives them some kind of adrenaline rush.....luckily she did go to sleep when we got home. We kept her in bed with us so we could watch her. Not a great night sleep but she was safe and breathing. Our weekend plans changed quickly. I was supposed to go to Payson to get my hair done and take Kaitlin to my mom's but we took a chill weekend at home. My roots will just have to wait. The Dr gave us another dose of steroids that we gave her last night. Luckily its been pretty smooth sailing. She's been coughing more today and I'm nervous for the night but hopefully she'll be fine. I did go out last night with some neighbor girl friends for a combined baby shower dinner with another girl in my ward. Can I just tell you that it made it so much more real that we're having another baby opening some presents? Seriously it kind of made me freak out a little inside. Not sure why I could make the whole nursery set and I'm fine but as soon as I open some pink pj's it makes it 10 times more real. Anyway it's time for bed for me....here's some pics from Disney On Ice. Unfortunately I didn't get many good pictures...

I need help destashing!

Okay so I am trying to clean out my baby accessory stuff. I have created a blog to list everything I have for sale. http://mygracielou1.blogspot.com/ I am trying to sell everything more wholesale but if anything wants anything retail please let me know. I'll gladly sell to you if I haven't already sold it. If you know anyone that is in the bow business or looking to start please send them my way. This is a great opportunity for those getting ready for Holiday craft shows to add some fillers. If you look - don't judge me. It's a lot of stuff :) I am going to be posting more throughout this week and weekend as I go thru more. Thanks for your help!

This is the Good Life!

I could be posting about all the things I got done this weekend with the Nursery and Kaitlin's room but instead I just wanted to do a quick post about what an awesome husband and daughter I have. This really was a great weekend. I got a lot done but I also spent a lot of quality time with my family. Tonight for dinner we made Ramen noodles and potstickers and it seemed like the best dinner ever. Kaitlin woke up from her nap in a great mood and we just really had an enjoyable night. I had choir practice after dinner and while I was getting ready to leave Kaitlin said in a demanding voice "Mom I need hugs and kisses." Seriously almost brought a tear to my eyes. Of course I had to squeeze a little longer than usual on that hug. I had asked Sam to switch the laundry to the dryer while I was gone and I asked Kaitlin to remind him :) As I was leaving Sam asked Kaitlin what they were going to do while I was gone and Kaitlin said "Dad you need to do the laundry!" So funny. Haha is it bad that I almost trust my 2 year old more in remembering something like that than my hubby? Yesterday I was doing a bunch of painting for the girl's rooms and of course Kaitlin wanted to help. It was so much fun and just enjoyable. Kaitlin sat at the table with me and painted 8 flowers for Makenna's mobile. She was so concentrated and so proud of herself for helping with Kenna's room. I think Kaitlin is getting more excited about having a baby sister - she's been talking about her a lot this weekend, about the things she'll show her and teach her. One of the first things she asked about when she woke up from her nap was wanting to see the flowers in Kenna's room. She's said she'll tell Kenna that she made them for her and that they'll make Kenna happy :) I am getting so excited for having 2 little girls. I know it will be a while before they'll be able to play but I know Kaitlin is going to love helping me with her and I'm so excited to share that with her. I love love the face Kaitlin gets when she's excited about something - like when I came home from Walmart yesterday and told her I bought her something. She does the biggest surprised face. It was a bath mat for her bathtub (princess of course) because the last few times she's been in the bathtub she has complained that "Something is moving me mom!" (she was floating and sliding a little bit - haha). She was so excited to take a bath last night and pointed out the princesses on her mat numerous times. I'm so grateful that I have her in my life to remind me to enjoy "the moments." To slow down and just enjoy her smiles and giggles. Today at church I asked her if she knew where Jesus lives and she told me "Jesus lives in Herriman!" Of course it made me smile and giggle but then I tried to tell her that Jesus lives in Heaven and she got frustrated and said again "No mom he lives in Herriman!" Yesterday in the morning she climbed in bed with us and I don't remember what she did but I laughed and she said "It's not funny mom, it's just a joke" Haha. I love the things she comes up with. She is constantly putting smiles on our faces and making us laugh. This IS the good life.

Picture Overload!

THE LAST 2 WEEKS IN PICTURES

Kaitlin loves to play on our deck and I had to test out my new camera.
It's my Christmas present. Really we had to buy a new camera because the
one Samwas using died so he took mine and a mom
CANNOT be at home without a camera!
Kaitlin posing for mom...

Sam thinking he's so funny by taking a picture of him sneaking a bite
of the chocolate I'd been saving. Who's more of a stinker - my 2 year old or my husband?

WARD TRUNK - OR - TREAT

Kaitlin had so much fun at our ward Halloween party. She loved seeing
everyone dressed up and pointing out their costumes.
Mom & Kaitlin ready to party!...

Kaitlin showing off her bowling skills...
She was so happy and proud of her little lion toy she won.
I really wonder why we spend money on the expensive toys - why
don't we just go to the dollar store every once in a while...
Posing by some pumpkins before heading out to get the candy...

PAINTING PUMPKINS

Kaitlin was very excited to paint pumpkins this year...
After she got done with hers she helped me finish mine...
Finished pumpkins
Dakota's is the one with flames, then mine, Sam's,
Kaitlin's and of course we had to do one for Makenna

HALLOWEEN DAY

Kaitlin's cute little neighbor friend, Amber has her birthday on Halloween.
So the last 2 years going to her birthday party has become part of our
Halloween day. Kaitlin was so excited and kept asking me over and over
when she got to go. She was so excited to show Amber her dress and to give
her the present we got for her. She did pretty well keeping what it was a secret
until it came time to open the presents. Then I heard her telling one of the other
girls what it was. So cute to see her socializing. I love this girl!

Playing in the Bounce House.
It took my cautious little girl a while before she would go in but once
she did she had a blast. It was so much fun watching her.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT

Here's Tinkerbell ready to Trick or Treat!...Getting ready to fly....
We had a great time trick-or-treating this year. We only went to probably 10
houses but Kaitlin loved it. Except when she was handed soda - Dad tried
to get her to say "Thank You" and her response was (in a bitter tone)
"This is not a treat." We were slightly embarrassed but what
do you do. She's 2! The weather was so perfect. I wish it was like that
all year round. Kaitlin loved opening up the door and handing out the candy
to all the trick-or-treaters. It was a great night - until the annoying teenagers
persistently rang the door bell and pounded on the door after I turned all the lights
off. I was so annoyed. After the 3rd set of kids did it I let them know how I felt :)

THE NURSERY

The window valance...
A little something I made to fill wall space
I made one for Kaitlin's room also with a big red flower...

The painted niches....

The diaper stacker....

Baskets I found at Joann's - I was nervous buying them but they are perfect!
And I was so happy that I remembered I had a 20% off coupon.

The lamp shade I covered...
TADA! I finally got them posted. Now it's off to bed. I'm exhausted.
And I'm pretty sure Makenna is going to be a soccer player or something.
I swear she's been moving constantly the last 2 days. That
glucose drink yesterday must have really gotten to her!

Attempting to Post!

I just wanted to let everyone know we're alive. On Sunday I tried to upload a bunch of cute pictures but then my laptop died. Well not totally died but it's not recognizing my wireless adapter so the internet wasn't working. And I have so many good pictures to share! Of course there was my adorable Tinkerbell for Halloween night (she was Sleeping Beauty during the day) and I've made a lot of progress on the nursery! I've painted, finished the valance, diaper stacker, covered a lamp shade and made some cute flower canvas things for both of the girls rooms. I'm feeling productive and sad I can't share!

In other news I went to the Dr yesterday for my 29 week apt and everything checked out well. I am now starting to go every 2 weeks which means we're definitely getting closer! I had to do my glucose test yesterday which was oh so much fun (I remember it being worse last time though) and my Dr. had me go up to Alta View as soon as I was done to get the H1N1 vaccine. I'm measuring right on track - the only thing that was pretty different was her heartrate was in the 120's instead of the 150's like its been the whole time. Dr said that's totally normal as they get more developed but it surprised me.

Anyway hopefully I can post pics soon. Hope all is well! We're loving the weather this week and are going to try and enjoy it while it lasts!

Weekend Happenings

The weekend plans changed a little from what I posted before but it was still a great weekend. Friday night we went to the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately Kaitlin was not in a picture taking mood but she still had fun picking pumpkins. We then went and ate at Red Robin - one of our family favorites and then home for a nice movie night. Saturday morning we went to dance class which was a waste of time. Kaitlin didn't participate and I think I'm done with it. I wasn't even planning on taking her but she said she wanted to go. I don't think I'll even ask this weekend unless Sam wants to try taking her. Blah. It was fun for a minute. After being at dance class for 20 minutes we hopped in the car and headed to Grandma Paula's. Unfortunately my mom didn't have a good week and was feeling pretty crappy so we went down to cheer her up. We had a nice relaxing day just hanging out with Grandma, we spent the night, had breakfast with her, I did some cleaning for her and then we headed home. I love my mom so much and hate to see her in so much pain and feeling so unhappy :( Kaitlin loves being at her house - she has so many fun toys and books. While hanging out I was able to finish the hand stitching on the crib bumper so when I got home I added the ties and TADA! its done! I of course had to quickly go put the crib together - see pictures below. I also put pictures of the 2 years below that we went to the pumpkin patch - it's fun to have traditions and see how much Kaitlin changes each year. I'm excited to have 2 little girls to go next year! If we're all in the mood we're going to paint them tonight :)

Oct 2007 - 6 months old
(I can't believe she doesn't have a big flower on her head! LoL)

Oct 2008 - 18 months old
